White Mass
Thank you to everyone who joined us, whether in-person or online, for our annual White Mass this Sunday at the Cathedral! We would like to thank in particular Bishop Matano for celebrating Mass!
In these difficult times it is ever-more important to come together to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. As we continue to move through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and societal unrest the Finger Lakes Guild will continue to support our colleagues, patients, and neighbors in the Diocese of Rochester. If you would like to get involved with the Guild, please contact us here.
Finally, we would like to thank the Catholic Courier for live streaming Mass for those who could not attend in person. Their excellent coverage is here.
Guild Update
Membership Drive
It’s that time of year when we ask for your continued support of the Guild.
First and foremost, we ask for your prayers!
Secondly, if you feel so called, we ask you to assist the Guild financially. Truly, any and all support, no matter how “large” or “small,” is appreciated and will be put to good use.
This can be done in a number of ways, including:
- Becoming (or continuing as) a dues-paying member
- Contributing to our Education Fund
- Becoming an Event and/or Guild Sponsor.

Free Fertility Awareness Workshop
Abortion in Gibraltar
A CMA member shared that on March 19, the Feast of St. Joseph, Gibraltar, the last place in Europe that bans all abortions as criminal acts and which is 70% Catholic, will hold a referendum to allow for abortion in certain circumstances. We invite you to join us in a novena with this prayer to St. Joseph, dating from the early Church, beginning March 10:
“Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God. I place in you all my interests and desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls – Pray for me (and that Gibralter continues to protect the unborn).”
