St. Michael’s Family Protection Institute

Thank you to all of the men who took part in the first meeting of the the St. Michael’s Family Protection Institute last night at Sacred Heart Cathedral!

An unofficial estimation suggested that the goal of 300 men was reached, and, it was a truly prayerful and moving two hours.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible, most especially to Fr. Van Lieshout, Deacon Michael Kristan and the speakers!

We look forward to the next SMFPI meeting!

St. Michael’s Family Protection Institute

The Rector and Deacon at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester, Fr. Van Lieshout and Deacon Michael Kristan, are looking for a few good men to take a stand against pornography, which has become an ever-increasing scourge on our society…300 men to be exact!

We are asking YOU to help them spread the word!

They will be hosting a Presentation and Holy Hour at Sacred Heart Cathedral on March 27th, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm.

Please take a look at the website and share the link with anyone you think might be interested!

In his Apostolic Exhortation, Familiaris Consortio, St. John Paul II teaches (referencing the Second Vatican Council’s document Apostolicam Actositatem) that:

...prayer constitutes the strongest incentive for the Christian family to assume and comply fully with all its responsibilities as the primary and fundamental cell of human society. Thus the Christian family's actual participation in the Church's life and mission is in direct proportion to the fidelity and intensity of the prayer with which it is united with the fruitful vine that is Christ the Lord.

We are part of the Mystical Body of Christ and so whether or not you have ever personally struggled with pornography, so long as this affects even one of our brothers, this has, is, and will continue to affect you. Please join us on March 27th!
